Fungal Contaminant Screening

Why Use This Test?
  • Identify the reason behind a contamination issue with confidence
  • Guarantee you've eradicated the problem after treatment
  • Certify a batch of clones is clean before removing them from quarantine
  • Ensure your plants are mold and mildew before moving them into a sensitive stage, such as flower production

How It Works
Fungal Contaminant Testing is effective on all plant species. This test identifies a broad range of fungal contaminants by detecting the highly conserved ITS region of fungal genomes (Schoch et al., 2012). We can detect fungi present in a sample collected from nearly any plant tissue. Ensuring effective treatment and eradication of mold or mildew before the problem returns can save you from losing any more of your plants.

The genus and species of fungal contaminants can also be identified for an additional cost by sequencing the product of successful detection tests. The ITS DNA sequences of your samples will be compared to a database containing over 20,000 fungal species including members of: aspergillus (over 1500 species), botrytis, fusarium, pythium, yeast, powdery mildew and more.

Detailed instructions along with a sample collection form will be sent to you with the DNA collection kits so you can properly document all necessary information. We track samples submitted to our lab using the sample collection form, which should contain the same contact information used when purchasing testing here on our website. Please contact us or include a note with your order if you would like results sent to a different email address than used for payment.

Results and Billing
Our lab will send results via PDF within 2-5 business days after we receive your samples. Turnaround time depends on the number and quality of samples submitted. Charges will appear on your statement as Delta Consulting
